Hi, my name is_____ I am a constituent calling from (give your state and zip code).
I am calling to express my position that funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) should be contingent upon several critical reforms.
Specifically, I believe the following conditions must be met:
- Accountability: ICE agents should be prohibited from wearing masks and must be required to undergo increased training, wear body cameras, and display clearly visible identification.
- Investigations: There must be independent investigations into the deaths of Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and all individuals killed by ICE agents.
- Legal Standards: ICE agents must secure judicial warrants for all arrests and home entries.
- Detention Oversight: There must be increased oversight of detention facilities to ensure adequate food, medical care, and sanitary conditions. Furthermore, no children should be held in these facilities.
- Protections: Individuals should not be deported to third countries with which they have no connection. Enforcement actions by ICE or Border Patrol must be prohibited at sensitive locations, such as houses of worship, daycares, and hospitals.
- Transparency: I am calling for full Congressional oversight of ICE.
