Rep. Susan Wild (PA-07) is a freshman member of Congress, former attorney, and the only Jewish federally-elected official from the state of Pennsylvania. Rep. Wild is a leader on issues affecting Israel and the Jewish community as a Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and is committed to defending Democratic values at home and abroad.
Rep. Wild is a Frontline Member and faces one of the toughest re-elections in Pennsylvania next fall. PA-07 is a D+1 district – a true swing district that will be heavily targeted by Pennsylvania and national Republicans in 2020. With a heated presidential contest on the ballot, PA-07 will be an expensive battleground race. Rep. Wild has two declared Republican opponents: Dean Browning, an avowed Donald Trump supporter, and Lisa Scheller, a self-funding businesswoman who has been endorsed by GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy.
So join us and support Rep. Susan Wild who is working not only for her district but for all of Pennsylvania’s residents.

An Evening with Author David Daley, Wednesday, November 1, 6:00 – 8:00 PM
DJOP invites you to an evening with David Daley, author of Rat F**ked: The True Story Behind the Secret Plan to Steal America’s Democracy. In Rat F**ked, a slang term for political sabotage first invoked in the 1920s, Daley documents the GOP’s insidious strategy to redraw the electoral map in the U.S. to guarantee their majority in the House through 2020.
Daley will discuss what separates this gerrymandering effort from previous efforts, and the role that technology and the Citizens United decision played in this scheme. State Senator Daylin Leach will be our moderator. Leach is currently running in the Democratic primary to represent the 7th Congressional District, which experts describe as one of the most gerrymandered districts in the country.
Daley Is a senior fellow of FairVote.org, and the digital media fellow for the Wilson School of Humanities and the Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia. He is a former editor-in-chief of Salon.com.
The event will take place Wednesday, November 1, 2017, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at the UFCW Local 1776 Union Hall, 3031 Walton Road in Plymouth Meeting. Ample free parking is available. Tickets are $40 each; food & beverages will be served. Visit https://secure.actblue.com/donate/daleyevent to register and pay online.
DJOP Hosting Fundraising Reception for Congressional Candidate Daylin Leach on September 10
The 2018 midterm elections offer a critical opportunity for the Democratic Party. While it won’t be easy – due, in large part, to gerrymandering – our party has a realistic chance of taking back the U.S. House. One big step towards this goal: electing State Senator Daylin Leach to represent Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District.
Incumbent Republican Pat Meehan is expected to face a highly competitive re-election battle in 2018. For one thing, when the president’s party controls the House, it typically faces an uphill battle retaining control in midterm elections. Furthermore, despite Meehan’s attempts to portray himself as not beholden to Trump, he has voted in line with Trump’s position 88% of the time (click here to view the figures). It’s also worth noting that Hillary Clinton won the 7th District in 2016.
With Daylin representing the Democratic Party in November, our odds of winning go up even higher. During Daylin’s 14 years in the PA General Assembly – first in the House, the last eight in the Senate – the longtime PA-7 resident has earned the reputation as one of the hardest working, most accessible members of the legislature. His role as a champion for progressive policies and legislation is second to none.
These are just some of the reasons, DJOP endorsed Daylin for Congress on July 17. And that’s why we’re hosting a fundraising reception for Daylin on Sunday, September 10, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, in Horsham. Please see the invitation below for more details and make plans to join us. Even if you don’t live in PA-7, your attendance and financial support is needed.
So, join us and our co-hosts on September 10. And please share this invitation with your friends and post it on social media to help spread the word!
