DJOP is horrified by the anti-American insurrection which took place at the Capitol Complex. The actions of these domestic terrorists are a direct threat to our Democracy and our Democratic institutions. These terrorists placed our elected officials in danger and desecrated their offices. They endangered every single person in the Capitol. Trump and his enablers incited this violence and should face consequences for their words and actions. Trump is directly to blame.
The actions of these individuals are terrorism. We do not use that word lightly. Forcing the shut down of the United States government to stop Joe Biden from being certified as the next President of the United States is anti-American. Using violence to achieve it is terrorism. All of these domestic terrorists should be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They have committed crimes of sedition and terrorism and are traitors to the United States of America. As the violent mob of his terrorist supporters forced their way into the Capitol building Donald Trump’s only statement regarding this outrage, simply called for the rioters to go home, as if these criminals were only unwanted guests. Shockingly at the same time he told those terrifying our U.S. Senators and Congresspersons that they are ‘”very special people” and that he “loves” them. The President fails to understand the nature of this threat to our nation and our Democracy, a threat which he has repeatedly encouraged, and thus he should be impeached at once and removed from office before any further damage transpires.
