Andi Irwin is an artist who accesses contemporary ways of communication in lushly brushed abstract paintings. A recent series is grounded in the patois of Pittsburgh, a city that has maintained its working class, ethnic roots even while transforming itself into a 21st-century city. She as well is the co-owner of River Forest Country Club. Andi grew up in Manhattan but has lived for many years in Pittsburgh. She is a lifelong Democrat and has been active in many Democratic political campaigns including those of her husband Steve Irwin.
