DJOP: Trump’s latest rant ‘shows once again
that he is a dangerous out-and-out antisemite’
He levels ludicrous claim that Kamala Harris ‘doesn’t like Jewish people,’
and agrees with radio host that her husband is ‘a crappy Jew’
Convicted felon and former President Donald Trump’s remarks Tuesday in a New York
City radio interview show again that he is a “dangerous out-and-out antisemite,”
Democratic Jewish Outreach Pennsylvania (DJOP) said today.
Jill Zipin, Chair of the state-wide political action committee, said that Trump’s comments
on Sid & Friends In The Morning on 77 WABC “make it clear that Trump is dangerous to
the Jewish community and to anyone in our nation who values respect and tolerance.”
Trump condemned Jews who vote for Democratic candidates as “absolute fools.” He
said Vice President Harris “doesn’t like Jewish people,” — even though her husband,
attorney and university faculty member Doug Emhoff, is Jewish.
The Daily Beast reported that Trump said, “No. 1, she doesn’t like Israel. No. 2, she
doesn’t like Jewish people. You know it, I know it and everybody knows it and nobody
wants to say it.”
At that point the show’s host, Sid Rosenberg, called Emhoff “a crappy Jew” and “a
horrible Jew.” Trump is heard repeating “yes” in agreement. (1.)
“Trump’s latest rant adds to his long history of trafficking in antisemitic tropes, and
shows once again that he is a dangerous out-and-out antisemite,” Zipin said.
“His tactics and his remarks serve only to incite resentment against Jews among his
MAGA followers. Instead of trying to bring our country together, he seeks only to create
divisiveness and intolerance. It serves no peaceful purpose. We have every reason to
fear where he is trying to lead us.”
