DJOP: Trump’s comment about Gov. Shapiro ‘serves only to solidify his status as an antisemite’

Democratic Jewish Outreach Pennsylvania (DJOP) said today that Donald Trump’s
reference to Gov. Josh Shapiro as the “highly overrated Jewish Governor” of
Pennsylvania “serves only to solidify his status as an antisemite.”
Jill Zipin, Chair of the state-wide political action committee, said Trump’s comments
“were those of a desperate and delusional candidate.”
Zipin stated:
“Trump shows consistently that he could not care less about the welfare of Jewish
Americans.
“He fails to understand that every time he targets our community with one of his
irrational falsehood-filled rants he is encouraging a dangerous hatred of Jews among
his MAGA followers.
“Trump’s reference to Gov. Shapiro’s religion was as unnecessary as it was deliberate.
It serves only to solidify his status as an antisemite.
“We remain confident that an overwhelming majority of Jewish voters will return the
favor with their ballots once early voting and mail-in voting begins, leading up to Election
Day.”
