The board members of Democratic Jewish Outreach PA said today that they abhor and
reject all political violence, including the attempt Saturday on the life of former President
Donald Trump.
Jill Zipin, Chair of the state-wide political action committee, called the shooting at a
Trump rally in Butler County, PA “a senseless tragedy that took the life of one innocent
bystander and put two others in the hospital in critical condition.” She stated:
“Saturday’s tragedy demonstrates that all players in the political arena should condemn
intolerance and violence, even as we maintain that Donald Trump himself remains a
promoter of such intolerance and violence. He is a subverter of everything decent and
patriotic in American life.
“It also illustrates, once again, the need for common sense gun control laws, including
limits on the access to high-powered firearms that have no purpose but to kill people.
“We pray for the recovery of all of the victims of yesterday’s tragedy and extend our
deepest condolences to the family of Corey Comperatore, who was slain in the
shooting.”
