The Board of Directors of Democratic Jewish Outreach Pennsylvania (DJOP) today announced that it “has endorsed — proudly — the reelection of Joe Biden for President and Kamala Harris for Vice President.”
Meeting in Harrisburg Sunday, the leaders of the state-wide political action committee said in a statement released by Jill Zipin, DJOP Chair, that the Biden-Harris team “is focused on building a bright future for all Americans, while an angry, resentful Donald Trump is stuck complaining about the past.”
Zipin’s statement:
“Inflation is down. Unemployment is down. Our economic recovery since the pandemic is the envy of the G-7. On every issue, President Biden and Vice President Harris have proven that they care deeply about hard-working Americans. They are focused on building a bright future for all.
“In contrast, Donald Trump shamelessly says he hopes the economy crashes, just to serve his own selfish political needs. He only wants to reward America’s wealthiest families with a bigger tax break than he gave them already.
“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris defend a woman’s right to choose.
“Donald Trump and his MAGA Republicans brag about killing Roe v. Wade. They believe women should be punished for seeking reproductive health care.
“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have capped the cost of a month’s supply of insulin for seniors at $35. They have let Medicare negotiate lower prices for prescription drugs.
“Donald Trump and his MAGA Republicans want to cut back Society Security, Medicare and the Affordable Care Act — programs that have provided financial well-being and health care for millions of Americans.
“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are defending our rights and our vote.
“But an angry, resentful Donald Trump is stuck complaining about the past. Three years later, facts and evidence notwithstanding, he still stews about the 2020 election, refusing to admit that he lost. He uses the language of Adolf Hitler and cares nothing about our democracy. He has nothing else to talk about, and no vision for the future. His outspoken admiration for dictators and authoritarians makes him a security risk to our country. At last count, 24 of his own firmer senior staff, not to mention former Vice President Mike Pence, have spoken out against his fitness for the Presidency.
“Most critically, on Oct. 8, while Israelis were reeling from the deadliest attack in their 75-year history, President Biden looked into the TV cameras and said to Israel’s enemies, ‘Don’t think about attacking Israel.’ He ordered the move of U.S. aircraft carriers to the region and sent an unprecedented amount of military aid to Israel. Joe Biden’s support for Israel is heartfelt, dating to his days as a U.S. Senator. He consistently has demonstrated his understanding of the special relationship between the American people and the people of Israel. For this, Israelis are eternally grateful to President Biden, and so are we.
“For all of these reasons, we proudly endorse the reelection of Joe Biden for President and Kamala Harris for Vice President. We will work diligently for their victory in November.”
