DJOP ‘enthusiastically’ endorses Tim Walz for Vice President
The Board of Directors of Democratic Jewish Outreach Pennsylvania (DJOP)
announced today that it “enthusiastically” endorses the choice by Democratic
Presidential nominee Kamala Harris of Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate for Vice
President.
“Tim Walz, in his 12 years as a member of the US House of Representatives and his six
years as Governor of Minnesota, has a long record as a friend of the Jewish
community,” said Jill Zipin, Chair of DJOP, a state-wide political action committee.
“He has spoken out forcefully against antisemitism, and has been clear about his
support for Israel,” Zipin said. “His support for Holocaust education dates from his years
as a social studies teacher to 2023, when he strongly supported and signed into law
legislation mandating the teaching in Minnesota schools of the Holocaust and other
genocides.”
Zipin pointed to the Governor’s progressive positions on abortion, education, LGBTQ+
rights and gun safety, and said that “DJOP enthusiastically’ endorses Tim Walz for Vice
President and looks forward to working for a huge victory on Nov. 5 th for the Harris/Walz
ticket and our nation.”
