Chris Deluzio has built a career around service, from the U.S. Navy to the fight to protect democracy and working families in Western Pennsylvania. Upon graduating from the United States Naval Academy, Deluzio was commissioned as an active-duty surface warfare officer in the U.S. Navy. His military service included three deployments, including a tour of duty in Iraq with U.S. Army Civil Affairs.
After returning from Iraq, Deluzio earned his law degree from Georgetown Law and focused his career on protecting voting rights and strengthening democracy. He worked at the Brennan Center for Justice on the Voting Rights and Election Security teams before joining Pitt Cyber, where his work focused on election security, voting rights, and the intersection of technology and civil rights. Deluzio was also part of the Pitt Faculty Organizing Committee alongside the United Steelworkers, helping successfully organize a union.
In 2022, Deluzio was elected to Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 17th Congressional District, which includes Beaver County and parts of Allegheny County. In Congress, he serves on the House Armed Services Committee, including the Subcommittees on Sea Power and Projection Forces and Readiness. He also serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, including the Subcommittees on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials and Aviation. Deluzio previously served on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
In Congress, Deluzio has focused on protecting democracy, supporting organized labor, strengthening infrastructure, and standing up for working families across Western Pennsylvania.
