Kamala Harris is good for the Jewish Community

Kamala Harris has a long and strong history of support for Israel. You will hear friends who will try to tell you that she isn’t pro Israel, this isn’t true.

Throughout her career, the Vice President has had an unwavering commitment to the security of Israel. That remains true today. Prior to and since October 7, Vice President Harris has made it abundantly clear that Israel has a right to defend itself and she is unwavering in her commitment to Israel’s security. The Biden-Harris administration has worked tirelessly to support Israel diplomatically and militarily  and has worked to fight antisemitism, and to  bring the hostages held by Hamas home. She repeatedly calls for eliminating the threat of Hamas and says Hamas cannot control Gaza. She says the onus is on Hamas to accept the proposed ceasefire and to release the hostages.

As a Senator, Kamala Harris had a perfect pro Israel voting record and spoke at AIPAC events. She was a lead sponsor on legislation to condemn antisemitism and violence against Jews. She has visited Israel 3 times and left a message at Yad Vashem.  During this time, Trump was a game show host.

Kamala Harris’s husband Doug Emhoff is Jewish. They celebrate Jewish holidays in their home and have a Mezuzah on their doorpost. Doug works with ambassador Deborah Lippstadt to combat antisemitism. After Trump hosted antisemites Nick Fuentes and Kanye West at his home, Emhoff described the rising tide of antisemitism in the US as an” epidemic of hate”. This administration has the first ever National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism. Harris condemned the pro Hamas protesters saying that antisemitism, hate and violence have no place in our nation. She also spoke out against efforts to prevent LA Jews from entering their synagogues in June. She has often said that antisemitism is unacceptable. Donald Trump hosts antisemites and quotes Hitler.

In Harris’s recent meeting with Bibi Netanyahu, she reiterated her unwavering commitment to the existence of Israel and to its security and its right to self defense. She reiterated the need for a ceasefire that would bring home the 120 hostages held by Hamas, the terrorist organization, and named the 8 American hostages specifically. She has joined the 20 plus phone calls between Biden and Bibi. Trump calls for the release of the hostages, but refers to the convicted insurrectionists.

In June, after hosting the screening of Screams before Silence, Harris spoke forcefully against Hamas’ use of sexual violence on October 7th.

Harris is pro Israel. She is a friend to the Jewish community. She has worked with Biden and the Senate to make sure Israel has the financial and diplomatic support it needs.

A Trump administration would erode the diplomatic efforts and cooperation of our allies and NATO. His instability and threats against the Jewish community, calling us “disloyal” is bad for Israel and American Jews.
