The board members of Democratic Jewish Outreach PA (DJOP) Monday called Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano’s flip-flop on abortion “an insult to the citizens of our state.”
Jill Zipin, DJOP Chair, said, “Doug Mastriano ought to stop treating voters as though they are fools.”
Zipin referred to comments made by Mastriano in a radio interview last week when he said exceptions to the U.S. Supreme Court’s overturn of Roe vs. Wade should be “in the hands of the people.” Previously, he has boasted that if he were elected Governor he would allow no exceptions, even to save the life of a mother.
“First he said he was against any exceptions. Now he says it’s up to the people,” Zipin said. “Which is it, Doug? Will the real Doug Mastriano please stand up and face the voters and the mainstream media — not just his friends in the right-wing media — and tell us where he stands?”
